Today, let's look at Lanting Museum of Calligraphy.
Located in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province, Lanting Museum of Calligraphy was established in 1988 and expanded in 2004.
There are four characteristic exhibitions and sights in the museums, namely Ink-Stone Hall, Temporary Exhibitions of Calligraphy, Elegant Lanting and Liushang Pavillion.
Made of porcelain, the ink-stones on display are collections of Mr. Chen Yiyao. Visitors’ ability to appreciate art can be upgraded through learning the evolvement of those ink-stones.

Temporary Exhibitions of Calligraphy were set on the second floor of the museum. Works of masters from the Ming and Qing Dynasties such as Xu Zhou, Wu Changshuo, Wangduo, Ni Yuanlu will be displayed at Calligraphy Festival.
At the end of the Temple of Wang Xizhi, a renowned calligrapher of China, and also the writer of Orchid Pavilion, lies a hall, whose left and right side are both decorated with two wooden hanging panels adopting incised carving.
The content on the panel is Orchid Pavilion copied by Emperor Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty. On the walls of the corridors along the temple are 17 inscriptions about the elegance of orchid pavilion, most of which were carved in the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China.

The museum also provides services and activities including commentary service, elegance gathering of Orchid Pavilion, expressing love through old mailbox, characteristic activities in festivals, etc, which helped it to gain great popularity.
Integrating collection, exhibition, communication on calligraphy and activities, the museum is playing an important role in carrying out the art of calligraphy of China.
