The vast Daliang Mountain of Sichuan Province boasts beautiful scenery and honest people. Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture is the largest settlement area of the Yi ethnic group in China. Due to its geographical location and natural environment, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture is also one of the deeply impoverished areas in China.
A media once commented: "If poverty alleviation is likened to a game, then Liangshan Prefecture is definitely of S-level difficulty."
This year is the decisive time against poverty in China, and Liangshan Prefecture has launched a general attack against poverty. With financial support and social assistance, a large number of resources have been invested in Daliang Mountain, an ancient land that is undergoing unprecedented changes.
According to Zhejiang Province counterpart work leading group arrangement, in early June, two Deqing cadres Xu Jinsong and Wu Keng came to Eriliping township to help alleviate poverty.
Noticing that there were a lot of waste materials from demolishing old houses after villagers moved into new houses these days, Xu Jinsong recommended to the local government of repairing the roads with these wastes.
"The people of the village agreed with my idea. I immediately asked the economic cooperation center of Deqing County Government for financial support. Now, the first batch of 50,000 yuan has been put in place, and the construction of the most difficult 200-meter road is about to start," Xu Jinsong said.
Another Deqing cadre, Wu Keng, was a post-80s cadre who used to drive, and he was also uncomfortable walking in the mountains every day.
Wu Keng said that the first thing he did in the village was to add a car to the village. This was the agricultural tricycle he bought with 20,000 yuan from an enterprise in Deqing.
"On June 10, the car drove into the village, and everyone was as happy as celebrating the festival." Wu Keng believes that with the deepening of poverty alleviation, there will soon be more and more trucks and cars in the village, and the winding mountain roads can lead to a well-off life.
In order to help the poor get rid of poverty as soon as possible, in 2016, Liangshan Prefecture launched the relocation project for poverty alleviation through relocation. The goal is to let 74,400 households and 353,200 poor people move into new houses. This year is the end of the project. However, there are still many villagers who have not moved into their new homes. Some of them are unwilling to move. Edibiri is one of them.
Edibiri revealed the reasons why he was not willing to move: first, he was afraid that the new furniture would be stolen; second, he was afraid that there would be no place for raising pigs and chickens after moving the new house; third, there was no place for planting vegetables. He pointed out that most villagers are not willing to move because of these reasons.
"In fact, you don't have to worry about all of those things!" Xu Jinshong said, "we are here to help you develop your farming industry. In the future, you can not only raise pigs and chickens but also raise more. However, it is not good to live in a mixed house with livestock like this. It’s better to live in a clean and separate way. This is the case in our hometown of Deqing. "
Through the joint efforts of a large number of poverty alleviation workers including Xu Jinsong and Wu Keng and local cadres and masses, the relocation project of poverty alleviation in Erliping township is progressing smoothly. By June 30, all 385 poverty-stricken households in the township have moved into new houses, of which 231 were completed in June.
The villagers said that happiness has never been so close to them as it is today. This could not have been achieved without the hard work of every Liangshan resident, but also with the support and help of various localities, including two Cadres from Deqing, who have brought in funds, wealth projects, and jobs.
CAI Qijiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Eriping township, said that through poverty alleviation efforts, the overall appearance of Eriping township has been greatly improved, with people living in spacious houses, children being able to read as much as they should, and everyone having medical insurance. "Next, we will focus on the development of the agricultural industry to constantly improve the livelihood of the common people, and truly achieve prosperity for all."
