记者从3日在上海举行的“经济统计的未来高级国际研讨班暨中国－联合国统计能力开发信托基金项目十周年成果总结会”上获悉，国家统计局与联合国经济和社会事务部将在杭州建立大数据研究所。

On June 3, it was learned from the High-Level Seminar on the Future of Economic Statistics & 10th Anniversary Celebration of the UN-China Trust Fund Project on Statistical Capacity Building that the National Bureau of Statistics and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs will co-establish a big data research institute in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province.

Ning Jizhe, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission and director of the National Bureau of Statistics, and Liu Zhenmin, deputy secretary general of the United Nations, signed a letter of intent for cooperation.

来自合作双方的信息显示，这是联合国机构首次与相关国家合作建立大数据研究所，也是中国－联合国统计能力开发信托基金搭建的国际合作平台结出的最新成果。这一项目选址杭州，在于充分发挥中国相关地方政府和企业在大数据领域的先发和引领优势，重点聚焦新技术、新产业、新业态，推动国际统计事业更快适应当今全球科技革命和产业变革，更好服务于经济和社会发展。

Information from both partners shows that this is the first time for a UN agency to establish a big data research institute in cooperation with a country. It is also the latest achievement of the international cooperation platform established by the China-United Nations Statistical Capacity Development Trust Fund. 

Hangzhou is selected as the site of the project in order to give full play to the pre-emptive and leading advantages of relevant local governments and enterprises of China in the field of big data, focus on new technologies, new industries and new forms of business, promote the international statistics to be sooner adapted to global scientific revolutions and industrial reforms and better serve the economic and social development.

中国－联合国统计能力开发信托基金成立的初衷在于提高全球特别是发展中国家统计能力，推动全球统计事业发展。十年来，中国－联合国统计能力开发信托基金累计资助40多个最不发达国家和发展中国家的统计机构负责人参加联合国世界数据论坛，在搭建统计合作平台、推动统计创新发展、提升发展中国家统计能力等方面开展了有益探索和实践，有效推动了国际通行统计规则的应用，以及国际先进统计方法和技术的推广，已成为国际政府间统计合作的典范。

The original intention for the establishment of the Trust Fund was to enhance the statistical capacity of the world, particularly developing countries, and promote the development of global statistics undertakings. 

In the past ten years, the Trust Fund has funded the heads of statistical institutions of more than forty least developed countries and developing countries to attend the UN World Data Forum. 

Beneficial explorations have been made and practical activities have been carried out in such areas as establishing statistical cooperation platforms, promoting the innovation and development of statistics and enhancing the statistical capacity of developing countries. It has effectively promoted the application of internationally accepted statistical rules and the promotion of international advanced statistical methods and technologies, and has become a model for statistical cooperation among the governments of different countries.
