Donations have been pouring in from across the world to restore the Notre-Dame cathedral since the fire that tore through the historical architecture. Overseas Chinese in Guyane Francaise participated actively in the donation.

In the Notice on Donating for Notre Dame de Paris posted by the Federation of Overseas Chinese in Guyane Francaise from Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, the president calls the overseas Chinese in Guyane Francaise to contribute to the development of France and give their hand to the reconstruction of Notre Dame.

"We want to do something," said Chen Jichao, the president of Federation of Overseas Chinese in Guyane Francaise from Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, also a Zhejiang native. "I just posted this in my Wechat moments, and several people have given me their cheques." 

The federation will collect donations from ethnic Chinese and overseas Chinese in the region and send them to the Reconstruction Committee of Notre Dame de Paris through the nomarch.
