In the past two years, Liangzhu sub-district of Hangzhou made efforts in tackling urban problems such as untidiness and disorderliness, integrating comprehensive environment renovation with industrial planning, thus achieved eye-catching progress.

No. 3111 Moganshan Road is home to the first Chinese industrial design town - Mengqi Featured Town. Years ago, it used to be an abandoned industrial factory area. After reconstruction, new studios with strong visual effect and nostalgic features came into being. Now seven culture and innovation halls have been set up, housing 600-odd cultural and creative enterprises.

Around Mengqi Town, the former construction machinery works have been reconstructed into the venue for the World Industrial Design Conference. In the future, the residential area on one side of Moganshan Road will be transformed into a new business incubation block. Today the town has become a home for many designers. Its complete industrial chain helps to better designers’ products.

Anxi market town is located at the northeastern corner of Liangzhu Archaeological Ruins. After the low and shabby auxiliary houses were demolished, the ponds in the town were linked up into a complete water system, around which a long corridor of the ancient town was built, forming a waterscape sightseeing route.

A wing-shaped wall gate, a symbolic relic in Xiaoshanqiao Block of Liangzhu, stands silently for centuries. According to the older generation, the gate has been guarding the place since the Song Dynasty. Therefore, the renovation of Xiaoshanqiao has become a cautious task.

In the past three years, a total of 261 unapproved constructions and buildings have been demolished, and eight main roads and bridges have been reconstructed within the scope of the market town. The habitat environment of Liangzhu has been constantly improved.
