On June 22, Guan Qiang, Deputy Director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, paid a research trip to the archaeological ruins of Liangzhu Ancient City. In the morning, the delegation led by Guan Qiang visited the latest exhibition of Liangzhu Archaeological Site at Liangzhu Museum. In the afternoon, the research group visited the Archaeology and Protection Center of Liangzhu Archaeological Site and the Heritage Monitoring Center of Liangzhu Archaeological Site.

Liangzhu Museum is a theme museum for the collection, research, exhibition and promotion of Liangzhu culture. In order to reflect comprehensively the rich archaeological research outcomes and values of Liangzhu, an upgrade and reconstruction project of the museum was launched.

After the upgrade, the theme exhibition of “Liangzhu Archaeological Site: A powerful proof of 5,000 years of Chinese civilization” is divided into three display halls, i.e., “A Water Town”, “Holy Land of Civilization” and “Jade and the State”, which demonstrate 608 pieces (sets) of cultural relics in a deep and comprehensive manner. Following a curatorial concept of exhibiting the ancient Chinese civilization in an international context, the museum has presented the audience with a most cutting-edge fashioned exhibition.

Moreover, Liangzhu Museum also constantly improves its public service level and achieves a stereoscopic interpretation of the earliest state established on the land of China five thousand years ago through different forms such as education, cultural and creative products and community interaction.

This May, the exhibition of “Liangzhu Archaeological Site: A powerful proof of 5,000 years of Chinese civilization” won the title “Top Ten Displays & Exhibitions of Chinese Museums”, the highest award for Chinese museums. The exhibition of the museum is taking the lead among all the other Chinese museums.
