400 meters northeast of Yaoshan Mountain, Pingyao Town and 800 meters from Wujiabu to its northwest, Huiguanshan Ruins was discovered on a natural mountaintop at an altitude of 23 meters.

In 1990, a farmer discovered important relics such as jade bi, jade bracelets and stone axes while building a house in the southwest of the ruins. Earlier in 1991, a rescue cleaning was conducted by the Cultural Heritage Administration Committee of Yuhang District on two exposed remnant tombs.

Later, Zhejiang Provincial Institute of Archaeological Research began to excavate the ruins officially and discovered a sacrificial altar dating to the Liangzhu time, whose top surface was split into three layers with lime clay ditches. Four tombs of the dignitary were cleaned in the southwest of the sacrificial altar, of which the M4 tomb was extremely large with intact coffins and a complete variety of jade burial objects.
