Jade cong is the most representative artifact and sacred symbol of Liangzhu Culture. 

As an original creation of the culture, the cylinder jade ware is with a circular interior and a squarish exterior, which symbolizes the primitive universal outlook that “the heaven is round and the earth is square”.

Carved with beast face, cong is a symbol of divine right and regarded as the ritual vessel of shamans in sacrifice.
