The E You Small Town, a characteristic town in Zhejiang

Located along the south bank of the Cao’e River in Shangyu district, Shaoxing city, Hongyan Future Community is an important component of the Shangyu Binjiang New City. It borders the E You Small Town in the north and the Chinese Filial Piety Cultural Park in the south, with a planned area of 163.6 hectares. When completed, the community is forecast to directly benefit 2,042 residents; a total of 4,168 talented people and an investment worth 5.5 billion yuan will be introduced. This project aims to create a people-centered, low-carbon and dynamic future community focused on the concept of filial piety.

Fostering a strong atmosphere of filial piety is the most unique feature of the Hongyan Future Community, where neighbors will be helping each other just like families. Shangyu is known as a notable place in China for the traditional value of filial piety. The Sage King Shun, who tops China’s Twenty-four Paragons of Filial Piety, is said to have been born in Shangyu. In the Eastern Han dynasty (25-220), Shangyu native Cao’e sacrificed her life to find her drowned father’s body. A stone tablet was set up by the locals in honor of her near the river, which was later named after her by the emperor. Next to the first Cao’e Temple in the Jiangnan area and the Great Shun Temple, the Hongyang Future Community aims to create an immersive neighborhood with Shangyu characteristics, featuring, among others, filial piety-themed parks, intangible culture experience centers and community culture halls.

Another highlight of the community is its employment-friendliness, following the new trend of an integration of life, employment and entrepreneurship in the future. Shangyu is leading the pack in the province in terms of talent introduction policies. For instance, its E You Small Town, a digital industry-themed provincial characteristic town, has already attracted more than 400 digital economy enterprises and over 4,000 young entrepreneurs. Adjacent to the town, Hongyan Future Community will provide the ideal solution for their working and living. In light of the development characteristics of the town’s digital industry, Hongyan Future Community has been devoted to setting up business incubators, entrepreneurship and innovation service halls, idea incubation centers, entrepreneurship academies, shared offices, shared kitchens, restaurants, readings bars, gyms, among other facilities, to provide one-stop services for these entrepreneurs. Ultimately, all the amenities are intended to give every community resident a sense of gain and make them happy and feel at home.
