“A Show to the World: Picturesque Zhejiang” exhibition week wins 2021 Event Marketing Awards
Organized by the Information Office of Zhejiang Provincial Government and the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism,“A Show to the World: Picturesque Zhejiang” exhibition week was awarded the Best Arts & Cultural Event for the 2021 Event Marketing Awards (EMA) on March 30. Now into its 5th edition, the EMA by world-renowned Campaign magazine, aims to celebrate individuals, agencies, tourism boards and event suppliers that deliver exceptional live and virtual events.
International delegates try hand at Taizhou embroidery
Over 30 delegates from consulates general and economic and trade organizations of 14 countries (regions), including Fiji, Turkey, Ethiopia and South Africa, visited Taizhou Taixiu Embroidery Museum on April 28. To better appreciate the cultural and artistic value of Taixiu (literally “Taizhou embroidery”), these delegates picked up needles and stiches, enthusiastically trying their hand at embroidering.
Meng Yan Solo Exhibition held in Zhejiang’s Jiashan Museum
Meng Yan Solo Exhibition, a joint project by Jiashan Museum in Zhejiang and the Museum of Cultures (Museo delle Culture) in Lugano, Switzerland, was held in Jiashan Museum on April 10. “I’m very glad to be able to learn more about the ancient history of Jiashan county and its folk culture and arts, and I believe Jiashan will be blessed by more artists like Meng Yan in the future,” Olivier Zehnder, Consul General of Switzerland in Shanghai, said in the opening ceremony.
Sino-US Cultural Exchange Center launched in Shaoxing
Shaoxing’s first Sino-US Cultural Exchange Center was officially launched on April 7, 2021, in the city’s Yuecheng district. A brainchild of Yuecheng Association in the US, the center will stage exhibitions, performances and forums to promote Sino-US cultural exchanges and communication. The center has also partnered with hospitals, colleges and law firms in the US, to provide advice in these fields to local residents.
