On June 28, a new nuclear power unit construction project in Sanmeng county was convened. After completion, 20 billion kWh of clean electricity will be offered, equivalent to reducing 15 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions. 

Nuclear power units of the former project have been put in operation, generating 19.98 billion kWh of electricity in 2021, 60 billion kWh in total since 2018.

After this project is finished, the nuclear power installed capacity will be expanded to 5 million kilowatts and 40 billion kWh of electricity will be generated annually in estimation, which is equal to shrinking 30 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions. When the above happens, the security of the energy supply in east China will be guaranteed.
