1. Zhejiang adds five academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering

 

The Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of engineering today announced the results of the co-election of academicians in 2021. A total of 5 scientists in Zhejiang province were elected academicians of the two academies. They are all from Zhejiang University.

 

Professor Ruan Yongbin of the school of Mathematical Sciences of Zhejiang University and Professor Xu Shizhen of the school of architectural engineering of Zhejiang University was elected academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

 

Professor Zheng Jinyang and Professor Gao Xiang of the school of energy engineering of Zhejiang University and Professor Yu Jingquan of the school of agriculture and Biotechnology of Zhejiang University were elected academicians of the Chinese Academy of engineering.

 

2. Jinhua became the first city in China whose annual express business volume exceeded "10 billion"


As of November 12, the postal express business volume of Jinhua City in 2021 has exceeded 10 billion pieces, continuing to maintain the leading position in China. At the same time, on November 10, with the last batch of express access to the administrative villages in mountainous areas "clearing the sales number", the coverage of "express access to the villages" in Jinhua reached 100%.

 

3. Hangzhou Xiaoshan airport need to provide 48 hours of nucleic acid testing to go to these places

4.10 Zhejiang private companies listed as top 100 Chinese multinationals


The China Enterprise Confederation and China Enterprise Directors Association recently published the "2021 Top 100 Chinese Multinational Companies" list.

 

Eleven Zhejiang-headquartered multinationals made it to the list, up from seven in the 2020 edition of the ranking.

 

Zhejiang representatives this year consist of 10 privately-owned companies, the most out of all provincial-level regions, and only one State-controlled company, Zhejiang Energy Group.

 

Zhejiang Geely Holding Group, China's largest private carmaker, was ranked 13th on the 2021 list, the highest-ranking for a Zhejiang-headquartered multinational. It is followed by Tsingshan Holding Group (47th), Joyson Electronics (55th), Hengyi Petrochemicals (56th), Wanxiang Group (57th), Zhejiang Energy Group (68th), Hailiang Group (86th), Huayou Cobalt (93rd), Zhejiang Longsheng Group (96th), Ningbo Shenzhou Group (98th), and Chint Group (100th).


5. 77 valuable relics first exhibited at Hangzhou Museum


A total of 77 valuable relics are exhibited for the first time at Hangzhou Museum from Nov 13 to February 13, to celebrate the museum's 20th establishment anniversary.

 

The exhibits include gold items which were used as currency in the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279). Another heavy-weight exhibit is an incense burner crafted in the famous Longquan Kilns. 

 

The exhibits also include paintings, seal cuttings, and intangible cultural heritage items from the Neolithic period, which in China is roughly defined as between 10,000 and 4,000 years ago, to the 21st century.
