1. Zhejiang approves establishment of Yangtze River Delta (Huzhou) Industrial Cooperation Zone

East China's Zhejiang province approved the establishment of the Yangtze River Delta (Huzhou) Industrial Cooperation Zone on Nov 6.

The zone will be the only industrial platform involving all parts of the Yangtze River Delta. The industrial zone is composed of Baimaoling farm in Shanghai, Yixing city and Liyang city in Jiangsu province, Changxing county and Anji county in Zhejiang province and Guangde city and Langxi county in Anhui province, according to an overall plan unveiled for the zone.

It will be the main platform helping Huzhou integrate itself into the national strategy for Yangtze River Delta integrated development.

2. Intl petroleum, natural gas enterprise conference held in Zhoushan

The fourth International Petroleum and Natural Gas Enterprises Conference was held in Zhoushan on Nov 11 to explore the innovation and transformation of the oil and natural gas industry.

The conference was attended by more than 280 participants, including senior executives from Exxon Mobil, BP, and Shell, both online and offline.

As one of the provinces with the highest degree of opening-up to the outside world and the fastest development in China, Zhejiang has been taking the lead in energy consumption in the country.

Zhejiang FTZ has made remarkable achievements in facilitating the trade in oil and natural gas and improving its capacity in bunker oil supply, oil refining, liquefied natural gas receiving, and oil product storage.

3. High-speed railway connecting Shaoxing, Hangzhou to open next month

The Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou high-speed railway in East China's Zhejiang province is expected to start operations next month, local media reported on Nov 10.

Spanning 266.9 kilometers, the railway was among the first batch of public-private partnership pilot projects in China. It has a designed speed of 350 km per hour and reduces the travel time between Hangzhou and Shaoxing to just half an hour.

4. Zhejiang's foreign trade scale continued to maintain third place in China in first the 10 months

From January to October, the total import and export value of Zhejiang Province was 3.36 trillion yuan, an increase of 22.6% over the same period last year (the same below), 0.4 percentage points higher than that of the whole country. The export was 2.44 trillion yuan, an increase of 19.8%, and the import was 924.24 billion yuan, an increase of 30.4%. The import and export scale ranks third in China. Compared with the same period in 2019, the province's import and export, export and import increased by 34.2%, 29.7%, and 47.7% respectively.

From the perspective of import and export markets, imports and exports to staple trading markets maintained double-digit growth, and imports from emerging markets performed well.

From the perspective of export product structure, electromechanical high-tech products play a great role in stimulating export growth.

5. The first in China! Pan'an promote the construction of a biodiversity-friendly city

Recently, the Department of ecology and environment of Zhejiang Province organized an expert review meeting on the pilot implementation plan for the construction of Pan'an biodiversity-friendly city. The implementation plan is the first pilot implementation plan for the construction of biodiversity-friendly cities reviewed by experts in China.

Based on the current situation of biodiversity protection and ecological civilization construction in Pan'an County, the implementation plan puts forward the overall idea and specific path of building a biodiversity-friendly city. Key demonstration projects are designed from the aspects of biological resources investigation, ecological space protection and restoration, the establishment of typical friendly units, publicity, and education.
