1. West Lake Dialogue promotes exchanges with global talents

Representatives from international organizations, international chambers of commerce, and multinational companies, as well as young global leaders, think tank scholars, and entrepreneurs gathered together for the West Lake Dialogue to exchange ideas on how Hangzhou can attract international talents and achieve high-quality development on Nov 7 in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province.

During the event, the panel "Talent-driven Economic Development for Common Prosperity" was held to discuss issues like how to narrow the urban-rural gap to achieve rural revitalization, how to solve the problem of inequality through initiatives that can be developed with international input, and how to create a friendlier international environment for talents.

Another panel "Building a Global City for Talent Acquisition" was held to discuss measures to attract international talents, share experiences and lessons in global talent development, as well as discuss how multinational firms can seize the potential opportunities under China's "dual circulation" development pattern, in which a strong domestic market allows domestic and overseas markets to reinforce each other.

2. Top talents cognitively battle at entrepreneurship competition in Hangzhou

Hangzhou's 2021 edition of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Overseas Talents came to an end on Nov 7, and doctor Cui Di from the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing in Germany took the crown with a surgical robot and her biotherapy research for ophthalmic retinal diseases.

Doctor Cui will claim the prize of 5 million yuan ($781,500) after setting up business in Hangzhou where she and her team will polish their skills, finalize products, and strive to further enhance their clinical practice as soon as possible.

3. No wriggle room for celebrity endorsements

Zhejiang province has issued the country's first celebrity advertising endorsement compliance guidelines. The Guidelines for the Compliance of Celebrity Commercial Advertising Endorsement Behavior formulated by the provincial market supervision bureau not only reiterates the provisions of the Advertising Law that prohibits celebrities from promoting products they have never used but has further made it a requirement that they do due diligence on any products they recommend.

According to the law, if a star knows, or should know, a product or service has problems but still promotes it, he/she faces administrative penalties and may be banned from endorsing any products or services for three years.

4. Geely creates new energy heavy truck -- Xinghan ‘H’ commercial vehicle

On November 8, Geely released a new energy intelligent luxury heavy truck - Xinghan “H” commercial vehicle, aiming at the global market.

It is reported that this commercial vehicle, as a master of remote vehicle cutting-edge technology and a flagship model, brings together three core highlights: home design layout, high-level intelligent driving, and future intelligent cockpit. Farizon Auto revealed that Xinghan “H” is the technical matrix of Farizon Auto, and its advantages will be gradually inherited by mass production models in the future. 5. The 22nd China Journalists' day | 17 news in Zhejiang won awards

November 8 was the 22nd Chinese journalists' day. In the afternoon, the award meeting for good journalists and good news was held by the Zhejiang press in Hangzhou.

The meeting reviewed the fruitful achievements of Zhejiang journalists in the past year. A total of 17 news in Zhejiang won the China News Award.
