On Jan 23, the Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Statistics released data showing that the gross domestic product (GDP) of Zhejiang province reached 8.26 trillion yuan ($1.15 trillion) in 2023. This represents a nominal increase of 6 percent over the previous year, marking the first time Zhejiang's annual GDP has surpassed 8 trillion yuan.

The primary industry achieved an added value of 233.2 billion yuan, increasing by 4.2 percent. The secondary industry saw an added value of 3.3953 trillion yuan, with a growth of 5.0 percent. The tertiary industry added a value of 4.6268 trillion yuan, growing by 6. 7percent.

Zhejiang's annual GDP growth rate for 2023 exceeded the national level (5.2 percnet).

In 2023, the per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents in Zhejiang grew by 5.2 percent and 7.3 percent, respectively. The consumer price index rose by 0.3 percent, and the urban surveyed unemployment rate was 4.6 percent.
