The Grand Canal of the Sui (581 - 618) and Tang Dynasties (618 - 907) reached its peak during the Northern Song Dynasty (960 - 1127). After Kaifeng became the capital in the Northern Song, a canal network centered on the capital was constructed. The Bianhe River became a hub for goods and travelers, with its developed water transport making Kaifeng the largest and most prosperous city in the world at that time.

Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden, built based on the Northern Song painter Zhang Zeduan's Along the River During the Qingming Festival, recreates the bustling scenes of the Northern Song era. Dressed in Song Dynasty (960 - 1279) attire and holding round fans, visitors walking through the living painting experience the grandeur of Bianliang as depicted by Zhang Zeduan. Every step feels like a dialogue with history, immersing visitors in a thousand years of cultural heritage.
