Westlake University‘Frontiers of Life Sciences' International Undergraduate Summer School runs from July 23 to August 6, continuing last year's theme with all sessions conducted in English.
Jerry Workman, fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and investigator at the Stowers Institute, is participating for the second consecutive year.
"I came back largely because I had a very rewarding visit when I was here last year," said Workman. He noted that during his interactions with young faculty members, he encountered many new ideas and creative thinking.
Westlake University introduced its first high-level research-oriented summer school last summer, which spanned 14 days, featuring 22 top scholars and selecting 102 outstanding undergraduate students. The program offered 34 intensive courses on the frontiers of life sciences. The university has again invited internationally renowned scholars and selected 120 exceptional undergraduate students from around the world this year.
