From midnight on April 16, a new fee payment service mechanism will be implemented for certain parts of the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou and Shaoxing Zhuji expressways, and the period is set for a tentative duration of one year.

Areas to respond to the new mechanism include the Jinghu interchange to Jianhu hub portion of the Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou Expressway (23.029km), spanning three toll stations of Jinghu, Keyan, and Fuquan, extending to the Shaoxing South interchange to Lanting interchange section of the Shaoxing Zhuji Expressway (5.237km), and the two toll stations of Shaoxing South and Lanting - at a total free distance of 28.266 km and 5 cost-free tolls.

For "class 1" vehicles with Zhejiang Shaoxing license plates and ETC sensors installed running within the above-mentioned areas, toll fees will be exempted and subsidized by relevant government bodies.  For vehicles that have yet to utilize ETC payment equipment, Shaoxing Traffic Investment Group will establish easy-install stations at corresponding toll stations for your convenience.

Key points to bear in mind

Differentiated-fee vehicles include "class 1" motor vehicles with Zhejiang Shaoxing license plates. According to the classification of toll road vehicle types issued by the Ministry of Transport, "class 1" passenger cars refer to small passenger vehicles with less than or including 9 seats and a length of fewer than 6 meters. In general, most common family cars fall under the "class 1" classification.

Installation and use of ETC payment methods is a necessary prerequisite for inclusion in all above-mentioned toll-free travel. "Manual toll" vehicles will be exempt from any preferential pricing policy. At present, 17 differential fee policy projects have been implemented throughout various cities in Zhejiang, all limited to vehicles using ETC as payment.

Charging of differentiated fees and preferential toll-free travel is enacted according to clear, unambiguous policy. Vehicles in accordance with said policy can travel "point to point" for free between the above-mentioned 5 toll stations of Jinghu, Keyan, Fuquan, Shaoxing South, and Lanting. All qualified vehicles will be exempt from tolls within said distance.
