Dear All,

Recently, multiple confirmed COVID-19 cases and asymptomatic infections have been detected in Hangzhou. The situation of the pandemic prevention and control is severe and complex. With New Year's Day and the Spring Festival just around the corner, Hangzhou is facing the critical stage of "forestalling inbound and intra-city transmissions".

Hangzhou Municipal Committee of the CPC and Hangzhou Municipal People's Government resolutely implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions, adhere to the deployment requirements of Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the CPC and Zhejiang Provincial People's Government to take the pandemic prevention and control as the current most important task, rely closely on people in Hangzhou, stay confident, stand united and adopt a science-based approach and targeted measures to win the battle against the pandemic with all our strength.

In order to fortify the line of defenses against the pandemic, to minimize the risk of pandemic spread, and to safeguard the health and safety of all people in Hangzhou, the municipal committee and the municipal government issue the following initiatives:

1. Avoid Unnecessary Travel and Gathering! 

Please pay close attention to the pandemic situation, refrain from traveling, and avoid unnecessary trips to medium and high-risk areas for COVID-19. If you have to travel, please arrange your itinerary reasonably and learn about the pandemic situation, and the prevention and control regulations of that area in advance. The recent cases in Hangzhou are closely related to gathering. For everyone's health, please avoid crowded gatherings.

2. Follow the Relevant Regulations of Pandemic Prevention and Control

A few days ago, Hangzhou released the notice of measures for restricting public activities in some parts of Hangzhou. Please comply with the relevant requirements and cooperate proactively. In the meantime, pay attention to your health condition and make an in-time report when necessary. If your health QR code turns red or yellow, don’t panic, don’t go outside, report the condition to your community immediately or consult the on-site staff about relevant situations and cooperate to have your nucleic acid testing.

3. Practice Personal Protective Protocols

Please maintain good personal hygiene, for instance wearing masks, washing hands frequently, having more ventilation, maintaining the one-meter social distance and using serving chopsticks.  If symptoms like fever, cough, diarrhea and fatigue occur, you should immediately report the situation to the community and go to the nearest fever clinic in time to seek medical advice, and avoid taking public transportation when going to the hospital. Please pay attention to the authoritative information in a timely manner, learn about and grasp the knowledge of science-based pandemic prevention and control approaches, and do not believe rumors or spread rumors.

Now, the city has sufficient supplies of daily necessities such as grain, oil, meat, eggs, vegetables, dairy products, instant foods and drinking water, and ample reserves of medical supplies like medicines, face masks and disinfectors. Things in the city operate smoothly and orderly. No need to worry.

Now, some people are held in quarantine due to the requirements of pandemic prevention and control work, which brings inconvenience to their work and life. The municipal committee and the municipal government express heartfelt thanks for their understanding and cooperation. It’s believed that under the concerted efforts of all people in Hangzhou, the pandemic will eventually be gone. Let’s wait patiently for the arrival of spring and the blooming of flowers.
