Ever since the first World Internet Conference was held in Wuzhen in 2014 and Wuzhen was declared to be the permanent venue for World Internet Conference, the word "Internet" has been embedded in the DNA of this waterside town. Many visitors and guests at the conference are keen to walk around and look for the "smart everyday life" in the town. One of the must-see landmarks is the upgraded Wuzhen People's Park.

"How is the food price today? What's the weather like tomorrow? Do you know the history of the World Internet conference?" Several questions are asked to the big screen of "AI Park-keeper", and the clever "Park-keeper" answers fluently. 

Shen Yue, a staff working in the park said that the park, which was built in the 1950s, just completed its digital upgrade and transformation in October last year. At present, the 48,000-square-meter park is fully integrated with a variety of techniques such as face recognition powered by AI technology, Internet of Things (IoT), 5G and has 23 interactive scenes such as "AR zoo", "AI virtual square dance device" and "self-service convenience store", which can meet the needs of all age groups.

The park is like a microcosm of the town. China’s first internet judicial office, Zhejiang province's first 5G smart court, 24-hour "law supermarket", intelligent driving microbus... One after another, digital science and technology have been applied first in Wuzhen. Ordinary people are enjoying more cutting-edge scientific and technological experiences all the time.

What is worth looking forward to is that this year's World Internet Conference, has also centered on a number of aspects such as life experience, intelligent production, industrial ecology, presenting 25 intelligent projects including 5G all-area autonomous driving, intelligent caretaking systems, digital pastures. At the same time, the Internet Technical Achievements Exhibition Hall will simultaneously showcase innovative applications such as blockchain intelligent inspection, nanolithography, and nanoimaging devices through an online and offline approach.

A smart town, a wise city. The continuous benefits that the World Internet Conference brings have also lead to the rise of the digital economy in Tongxiang City. Arranged around Wuzhen Internet Innovation and Development Comprehensive Experimental Zone, 13 industrial innovation and development platforms came into being, and a large number of innovative enterprises such as Haikang AI link, Uniview Technology, Wujiang Development, and so on have settled in Tongxiang city. Up to now, the total number of high-tech enterprises and enterprises relating to science and technology in Tongxiang has reached 1424. 

According to Tongxiang Municipal Government, since 2014, the number of Tongxiang digital economy enterprises has increased more than eightfold to 2443, and the output value of the core industry of digital economy has increased more than fourfold to close to 16.5 billion yuan (approximately 2.56 billion dollars).
