The 15th CPC Zhejiang Provincial Congress kicks off in Hangzhou on June 20

At 9 am on the morning of June 20,  the 15th CPC Zhejiang Provincial Congress kicked off in Hangzhou, capital city of East China's Zhejiang Province. Yuan Jiajun, secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee on behalf of the 14th CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee delivered the report to the congress. 


According to the report,  Zhejiang has made great progress and gained significant achievements in various aspects over the past five years. On the path to common prosperity, Zhejiang has seen continuous economic strength growth, important progress in reform and opening up, and more coordinated urban-rural developments. Some of the sound achievements include: the income gap between urban and rural residents has been narrowed to 1.94l; The gap between the group of residents with the highest and ones with the lowest income has been reduced to 1.61; Zhejiang has achieved an urbanization rate of 72.7%. Zhejiang has initiated the "health code" system for the prevention and control of the COVID-19. A total of 10 technology-driven labs have been built up to support the R&D of Zhejiang. 


As for the following five years, Yuan pointed out that Zhejiang will continue to lead the high-quality development and strives to be a pioneer on the path to common prosperity. Some of the highlights include: the overall provincial GDP is expected to reach 12 trillion yuan in the next five years, so the regional GDP per capita to 170 thousand yuan and per capita disposable income to 85 thousand yuan; Zhejiang will also carry on to hit the target of positioning itself as the highland of the digital economy and the development of e-government; Zhejiang will improve the ratio of water bodies to 95% and achieve the full coverage of "zero-waste cities".
