Zhejiang has 2,537 kilometers of railway track which serves the province's three major railway terminals in Hangzhou, Ningbo and Jinhua, across the 10 major routes, such as Huhang (Shanghai-Hangzhou), Zhegan (Hangzhou-Zhuzhou) and Jinwen (Jinhua-Wenzhou). High-speed railways interconnect 10 cities under the direct jurisdiction of the Zhejiang provincial government, except the island city, Zhoushan.

Hangzhou East (Hangzhoudong) Railway Station is one of the largest railway hubs in Asia, serving a total of 147 million passengers in 2015.
