Ningbo Nantang Old Street is a food street of the Ningbo locals. The street may be short but it is truly the place to be when one wishes to sample authentic Ningbo cuisine. With the introduction of a variety of time-honored brands of the traditional dining industry, it hosts all kinds of snacks and reminds Ningbo People of beloved familiar tastes.

One can always find many people lining up at the Youzanzi shop. The chef puts the soft little dough twists into the bubbling hot oil and turns them over several times and finally fishes out the piping hot Youzanzi! This traditional snack has been popular since the Qing dynasty which favors sweet and salty tastes. Any foodie worth their salt simply cannot afford to miss this delicacy!

There is also a Zhaodayou shop at the end of the street which sells freshly-made pastries. It is said that this shop is so well-known that people rush to purchase from it even in early mornings. Other offerings one can sample are Wuji bean-curd knot, rice cakes and dumplings to satisfy. Once that’s done, walk into the most famous beef noodle shop in the area with your friends and enjoy the delicious food in a leisurely manner, savoring truly authentic moments with authentic food.
