A surging tidal bore appeared in the Qiantang River in Haining's Yanguan town on Aug 21, which also marked the 18th day of the seventh month on the Chinese lunar calendar.

This awe-inspiring tidal bore, resembling a silver dragon stretching into the horizon, captivated onlookers with its thunderous roar.

This spectacular phenomenon is called the "Ghost King Tide", as it occurs around the time of China's Ghost Festival, which falls on the 15th day of the seventh lunar month.

This tidal bore is renowned for its impressive height and power. The unique geographical conditions of the Qiantang River, with its trumpet-shaped estuary and underwater sandbars, create the perfect environment for this natural wonder to occur.
