The most famous story about Xi Shi is the “Xi Shi Huan Sha”, which literally means Xi Shi washing silk on a stream. Therefore, the scenic area was built on the stream where the story took place. There is a stone engraved with these two characters- “Huan Sha”, which are said to be written by Wang Xizhi, one of the greatest calligraphers in ancient China.
