Huazhao Festival is held in Xixi National Wetland Park, embracing the arrival of early summer.

At the beginning of May, hundreds of flowers at Xixi Wetland Park are in full bloom. Lavender, snapdragon, Delphinium grandiflorum, Chinese flowering crab-apple, Lupinus micranthus and Gazania rigens show off their beauty enthusiastically.

Improved varieties from home and abroad such as “Supremacy”, “Elegant” and “Red Pearl” are blooming in the exhibition area of alpine rose near the western entrance of the green dyke.

The celebrity among the flowers should be Rose Eden. Its buds are spherical, petals are overlaying. The flower is as exquisite as diamonds. It is recognized by the world as a remarkable species of Chinese rose. Around 500 Rose Eden create a pink dreamland.

Other than enjoying the sight of flowers, a series of“family affection, friendship and love” themed activities are also staged. 

This year, Xixi has introduced pure-blood Shetland ponies, which are popular among kids and worth a ride. The Xixi “helium balloon” sightseeing program is opened to the tourists. You can take an oar-propelled boat decorated with flowers to enjoy the scenery and taste the “flower-scented tea”. If you want to enjoy the view and do sports at once, the canoeing experience program will be a good choice.

On the last day of the Flower Festival, that is May 12, 2019, also the Mother's Day, the final of the 3rd Huazhao Shangzhixing Cup Youth Poetry Competition will be held at the Ten-Mile Fragrance site. A thousand-person yoga performance will be staged at the large lawn of the green dyke to show the feminine beauty and present a gift for mothers.
