A WeChat mini app titled West Lake Smart Travel was officially launched by the Administration Committee of West Lake Tourist Attraction on April 28, 2019.

During the coming Labor Day holiday, you can find the location of parking lots and number of vacant space near the West Lake Scenic Area with the WeChat mini app on your phone. The Administration Committee of the West Lake Tourist Attraction has completed a smart parking control platform. The platform has established an information network of more than 3,000 parking spaces of nearly 50 parking lots, which can achieve a real-time dynamic monitoring on the number of remaining parking spaces and provide car owners with more convenient travel service information with higher referential values, such as traffic forecasting of the tourist attraction, inquiry of parking space information and parking guidance service. A smart model of tourism will be launched to cover the entire area of West Lake.

In addition, the platform has also achieved a seamless connection with the segment of “Smart Travel of West Lake” of AMAP. Car owners can search for scenic spots of West Lake via the AMAP and have a timely access to the locations of surrounding parking lots and remaining spaces.

The smart parking control platform has effectively enhanced the utilization and turnover rates of existing parking spaces in the parking lots of the tourist attraction.

In the future, the app will be upgraded and successively unveil new functions such as non-inductive payment and tourist service recommendation, which will play an active role in improving the traffic congestion of the tourist attraction, promoting the innovation and development of “digital tourist attraction” and accelerating the improvement of tourist service covering the area.
