As the deep embrace of autumn recently enveloped Maohuo village, it heralded the arrival of the most exquisite season of the year. The landscape has transformed into a vibrant canvas painted with hues of gold, red, orange, and yellow, creating a breathtaking masterpiece of nature's artistry.
Soft sunlight filters through the ancient trees of the over 400-year-old village, nestled within the Siming Mountain in Haishu district, Ningbo, dappling the ground with a mosaic of light, akin to nature's most delicate brushstroke, accentuating the captivating autumnal palette. Each sunbeam carries a poetic and tender essence, marking the transition of seasons with grace.
The ancient village is a sanctuary for various ancient tree species, including pine, ginkgo, and maple. It is home to 52 ancient trees aged over 600 years, with some surpassing the millennium mark.
Among the distinguished ancient trees in the village, recognized last year as one of the nation's top 100 most picturesque ancient tree groves, a pine tree reigns supreme. Standing tall at 52 meters with a trunk diameter of 1.36 meters and an age exceeding 1000 years, this extraordinary tree symbolizes the enduring beauty and resilience of Maohuo's natural heritage.
