The Hangzhou culture, radio, TV, and tourism bureau, in collaboration with the Hangzhou metropolitan area tourism and culture special committee, hosted the 2024 Hangzhou Metropolitan Inbound Tourism Promotion Conference on Oct 30.

Nearly 100 international travel agencies attended, with new offerings unveiled to invigorate inbound tourism. Key highlights included the "5,000 Years of China, See Hangzhou" tourism product and the "AI Hangzhou" travel service brand, designed to enhance Hangzhou's appeal among international visitors.

The promotion comes amid rising international interest, spurred by the 72/144-hour visa-free policy, which has become a major selling point for China. This policy has contributed to Hangzhou's recovery in inbound tourism, with a 162.65-percent year-on-year increase in overnight stays, totaling 770,000 visitors from January to September.

At the event, Hangzhou showcased its rich cultural landmarks, including UNESCO World Heritage sites like the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City, the Grand Canal, and West Lake, as well as attractions like Xixi Wetlands, Qiandao Lake, and the Qiantang River.
