According to statistics from the Hangzhou Customs, several ports in Zhejiang province reported over 20 percent year-on-year export growth from January to February.

During this period, the Jintang area of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port handled 1.95 million metric tons of import and export cargo, a 41.3 percent increase from the previous year.

Wenzhou Customs supervised 660,000 tons of import and export goods, reflecting a 25.2 percent rise.

Even Zhejiang's inland ports, facilitated by its extensive water network, were thriving.

On March 20, under the supervision of Huzhou Customs, a container ship loaded with sofas and other furniture departed from Changxing Port, bound for Thailand via river-sea intermodal transport.

As China's first pilot zone for inland water transport transformation, Huzhou Port processed 168,000 twenty-foot equivalent units of inland container throughput from January to February, a 24.4 percent increase.

At Haining Port in Jiaxing, containers were lifted onto inland vessels by gantry cranes for transport to Shanghai Port, where they were loaded onto ocean-going ships for export.

A Hangzhou Customs official said that efforts will continue to optimize the business environment, enhance smart customs infrastructure, and advance port intelligence and convenience reforms, contributing to Zhejiang's development as a world-class port hub.
