The Linghu black carp from Huzhou, Zhejiang province, was included in the National List of Famous, Special, and Superior New Agricultural Products, as recently announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.


Characterized by its rounded, spindle-shaped body, bluish-gray scales, and red gills, the Linghu black carp boasts firm, elastic meat with a distinct texture. When cooked, it offers a delectable balance of freshness, subtle sweetness, and rich nutrition.


Linghu town in Nanxun district features a flat terrain and lush aquatic vegetation, suitable for mollusks and aquatic insects to live. This setting provides abundant food for the black carp, resulting in its high protein content.


The Linghu black carp benefits from the pristine, unpolluted waters sourced from Taihu Lake and Tianmu Mountain streams. These waters, rich in trace elements, support the optimal growth and reproduction of the fish, while Linghu town's warm and wet climate provides an ideal habitat.
