The University of Science and Technology of China-Deqing Alpha Innovation Institute and Nio Automobile Technology (Anhui) Co recently started the Intelligent Electric Vehicle Joint Innovation Center in Deqing county, Huzhou, Zhejiang province.
Established in the Mogan Mountain High-tech Industry Development Zone in 2020, the Alpha Innovation Institute is a partnership between the USTC and Deqing county that has been at the forefront of AI innovation, industry-academia collaboration, and technology incubation. It has made a significant impact on local companies in their transition to intelligent manufacturing.
The collaboration between the institute and Nio is no accident. In 2021, the two sides had already cooperated to build an intelligent electric vehicle joint lab, focusing on technological advancements, talent development, and practical applications.
The new innovation center will leverage USTC's research capabilities and Nio's industry expertise to drive technological and industrial innovation. The center seeks to elevate industry standards, cultivate talent, and foster a robust ecosystem for the intelligent electric vehicle industry.
Looking ahead, Li Qiang, executive vice-president of the institute, emphasized the center's commitment to evolving industry needs through targeted research and engineering applications, while continuously refining the innovative "Deqing Model" for the new era.
