The 1,000th batch of cargo departed from Longquan, a county-level city in Lishui, heading to Yiwu, which marks a milestone for the "Land Port Express" logistics channel, according to local media on Dec 4.
Since the start of this year, the Longquan-Yiwu Land Port Express has transported a total of 27,800 metric tons of cargo, including 1,594 tons of export goods valued at approximately 39.84 million yuan ($5.48 million).
The Longquan-Yiwu Land Port Express is a highly efficient transportation channel. Goods are shipped from the Longquan smart logistics port to Yiwu, from where they are distributed worldwide through Yiwu's domestic logistics network, China-Europe freight trains, and international trucking services.
Since its launch in October last year, the Longquan Smart Logistics Port has attracted 10 express logistics companies. Excluding direct shipments from manufacturers, the Land Port Express now handles over 80 percent of the logistics volume between Longquan and Yiwu.
A batch of samples from Zhejiang Santian Oil Filter Co recently reached the trucking consolidation center via Yiwu International Land Port Group's Land Port Express. The samples were then transported by truck, arriving in Moscow, Russia, in just 15 days.
"Exporting small or urgent items from Longquan to Moscow through international express and sea freight both have drawbacks. International express was expensive, and sea freight was unreliable in terms of timing," said a representative from Zhejiang Santian Oil Filter Co.
