Taizhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone in Taizhou, Zhejiang province, celebrated the entry of seven projects and the signing of agreements for eight more during a ceremony on Dec 3.

These projects span diverse sectors including cross-border e-commerce, bonded maintenance, processing, and logistics, with an anticipated annual trade volume exceeding 8 billion yuan ($1.10 billion).

The zone has seen a significant uptick in its industrial ecosystem since it commenced operations on May 15, serving as a gateway for Taizhou's global trade ambitions.

One of the projects is the cross-border e-commerce project of Poizon — an online shopping platform. "The zone's strategic advantages in terms of location, logistics facilities, and government support make it an optimal choice for Poizon to expand its cross-border e-commerce," said Luo Pengfei, senior director of international supply chain at Duyu (Shanghai) Information Service Co.

Leveraging the zone's policies, Poizon's project successfully executed the first transaction under the "1210 (bonded cross-border trade e-commerce)" model, marking a milestone in Taizhou's efforts to develop bonded cross-border e-commerce.

Ningbo Fuli Logistics Co, a logistics service provider collaborating with Poizon, is eyeing the Taizhou Comprehensive Bonded Zone for its tax-efficient operations. General Manager Li Sun highlighted the benefits of direct tax-free storage for goods entering the zone from overseas, reducing financial pressures on businesses and streamlining processes for sales.

Additionally, in cooperation with Hangzhou International Airport, Taizhou plans to open a green channel between the zone and the airport, streamlining procedures and reducing logistics costs for businesses.
