The Second Liangzhu Forum opened in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, on Nov 25. With the theme "Exchanges and Mutual Learning for a New Model of Human Civilization", the event welcomed over 300 participants, including archaeologists, writers, and musicians from more than 60 countries and regions.
Parallel forums will center on topics such as "Rediscovery of Civilization: Archaeology from a Global Perspective and Variety of Civilizations" "Creativity of Literature: Resonance of World Literature and Development of Human Society" and "Evolution of Musical Spirit: Modern Echoes of Global Music Legacies".
Rooted in China's 5,000-year civilization, the forum leverages the Liangzhu archaeological site as a key piece of evidence for cultural heritage. Combining historical depth with a global outlook, it explores areas such as heritage, literature, and music, fostering international collaboration to advance global civilization initiatives.
The forum also features side events including academic symposium on A Comprehensive Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings and Liangzhu culture concert.
