The 2024 Taizhou Shipping High-quality Development and International Management Forum convened on Sept 27, drawing maritime industry experts to Taizhou, Zhejiang province.


The forum aimed to forecast trends in the shipping market and discuss international ship operations and management models, focusing on the internationalized development of Taizhou's maritime industry.


As a pivotal sector driving the growth of the maritime economy, the shipping industry plays a crucial role in Taizhou's aspirations to fortify its maritime prowess. Recent strides in Taizhou's shipping services sector include pioneering initiatives such as the "Shipping Loan" financial scheme and establishing its first maritime and commercial law service station.


Taizhou currently boasts 92 water transport enterprises (including 10 also engaging in international shipping) and 301 registered ships, with a shipping capacity of 5.16 million deadweight tons, ranking third in the province.
