"We see this event as a unique opportunity to showcase our progress in digital transformation, present innovative solutions, and discuss prospects for international cooperation," said Zhaslan Madiyev, minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, in an exclusive interview with ZICC reporters during the third Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE).

The GDTE is being held in Hangzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, from Sept 25 to 29. Kazakhstan serves as this year's guest country of honor, together with Thailand.
With digitalization at the forefront of Kazakhstan's agenda, Madiyev said the country's goals for the expo include demonstrating its achievements in digital technology and forging new international partnerships.
"Our aim is not just to share our progress but also to establish partnerships that will bolster our capabilities in e-commerce, digital platforms, and joint technological projects," Madiyev said.

Madiyev said he is optimistic about leveraging China's experience in logistics, fintech, and e-commerce to enhance digital trade initiatives.
"Kazakhstan's strategic position and readiness for innovation make us an ideal partner for Chinese firms looking to expand into Central Asian and European markets," he said.
Madiyev said that the collaboration could extend to developing joint programs in e-commerce and logistics, thereby enhancing competitiveness on a global scale.

"China is regarded as a global leader in digital technologies and innovations. The achievements in areas such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, blockchain, and big data are highly respected," he said, adding that Kazakhstan is actively developing its digital infrastructure and has made significant strides in digitalization, GovTech, and IT development.
During the expo, enterprises from Zhejiang and Kazakhstan signed agreements on build smart port systems at Kazakhstan-China border. The integrated system will cover customs, tax and logistics to elevate the efficiency of port operation.
"We view this expo as an opportunity to exchange experiences with leading global players in the digital economy and to expand economic ties between Kazakhstan and China," said Madiyev.
