The launching ceremony of the Report on Chinese Investment in Africa was held in Beijing on Aug 23, focusing on Chinese-African enterprises' joint efforts in facilitating Africa's industrialization. Eric Mupona, ZICC's guest anchor from Zimbabwe, served as host of this ceremony and made exclusive report on this occasion.

The report is co-written by China-Africa Business Council and renowned experts both home and abroad. "Through market-oriented investment, infrastructure investment and investment in new fields, Chinese enterprises are improving Africa's industrial system, promoting the progress of Africa's industrialization and upgrading its quality," said the report.

China-Africa investment cooperation has grown steadily, official data showed. As of the end of 2023, China's direct investment stock in Africa exceeded $40 billion, making it one of Africa's major sources of foreign investment, according to the Ministry of Commerce.

In the dialogue session, experts from various fields engaged in in-depth discussions on how to further enhance China-Africa investment cooperation.

"I feel immensely excited to see my country and other African nations using such a platform to share experiences, exchange ideas, and jointly promote sustainable development across the African continent," said Mupona.

The report came ahead of the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation scheduled in Beijing, from Sept 4 to 6.
