The 2024 Green Low-Carbon Innovation Conference opened in Huzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on Aug 15. Nearly 300 representatives from scientists, entrepreneurs, and venture capitalists at home and abroad attended the event.

John Loughhead, foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor at the University of Birmingham, expressed that China and the UK can complement and learn from each other in low-carbon transformation. China has a much bigger economy and a much greater energy sector than UK, and is capable of deploying projects on a much larger scale, while the UK possesses direct experience in setting up and managing low-carbon transitions. The two countries can jointly advance the global development of low-carbon transformation.
