A sea-rail intermodal train carrying 100 containers departed from Jinhua South Railway Station on Aug 10, marking its first direct trip to Chuanshan Port Station of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port via the Ningbo-Jinhua Railway.
The journey took approximately five hours, officially launching the Jinhua-Ningbo Zhoushan Port Chuanshan Port Area direct sea-rail intermodal train route and enhancing transportation links between Jinhua and Ningbo-Zhoushan Port.
As of July 31, Jinhua South Railway Station had handled 65,674 twenty-foot equivalent units via sea-rail intermodal trains this year, a 57.3-percent increase year-on-year. About 80 percent of these goods are destined for Ningbo-Zhoushan Port's Chuanshan Port Station.
Previously, trains from Jinhua to Ningbo-Zhoushan Port relied on the Zhejiang-Jiangxi Railway to Xiaoshan, then transferred to the Hangzhou-Ningbo Railway, detouring through Hangzhou to reach Ningbo Zhoushan Port, which took over 10 hours.
With the new direct route via the Ningbo-Jinhua Railway, the rail distance between Jinhua South Station and Chuanshan Port Station is shortened by about 100 kilometers, cutting travel time by at least half.
The launch of the direct sea-rail intermodal train via the Ningbo-Jinhua Railway is expected to launch a new phase of development for logistics transportation between the two regions, injecting fresh vitality into the regional economy.
