The 12th Bike Angel Charity Tour for Cross-Strait Cycling Dream and the 2024 Taiwan Youth Huzhou Cycling event began in Huzhou, Zhejiang province, on July 20.

Young cyclists from Taiwan and the Chinese mainland headed for the Moon Plaza by the Southern Taihu Lake, their first stop in Huzhou, followed by Changxing county and Anji county.

Liu Chengyao, a junior high school student from Taiwan who came to Huzhou for the first time, shared his enthusiasm for the city's picturesque landscapes and was eager to take in more scenic views while cycling. He said he was especially impressed by the local delicacies.

Since its inception in 2012, the Bike Angel Charity Tour for Cross-Strait Cycling Dream has been dedicated to providing sports education to underprivileged youth.

Participants in the activity include students from remote rural schools in Taiwan as well as juveniles from the Yi and Tujia ethnic groups in Sichuan province.

"We expect that such activities will enable Taiwan youth to appreciate Huzhou's natural beauty and cultural heritage, broadening their horizons and nurturing their confidence," said Yang Minzhong, Chairman of the Taiwan Bike Angel Association.
