Summer has brought a bounty of fresh fruits to Longquan, Lishui, Zhejiang province, with grapes and watermelons entering their peak season.

On the Lyupin Family Farm, grapes hang in abundance on grape trellises, filling the air with their sweet aroma. These grapes belong to the "Hanxiangmi" variety, known for their seedless, thin-skinned, and sweet nature. The picking season will continue until mid-July.

"This year's yield has surged by a third, with over 3,000 kilograms harvested from four mu (0.27 hectares) of land. More than 150 kg can be sold every day," said Yang Xiaohua, the farm's owner.

The Xuerong Family Farm also saw increased sales of watermelons. "I sold 1,280 yuan ($176.11) of watermelons yesterday and 1,430 yuan the day before yesterday," said Zhang Xuerong, the farm's owner.

Despite a decrease in yield due to earlier rains in other planting bases, Zhang's single-row planting method has ensured a harvest of over 35,000 kg, with more than half already sold.

As the summer progresses, a variety of fruits in Longquan, such as peaches and pears, are also hitting the market, while plums and dragon fruits are on the verge of ripening.
