Over 80 international students from more than 10 countries including Morocco, Kenya, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Bangladesh, studying at China Jiliang University and Zhejiang University of Technology, visited Shangyu in Shaoxing to explore the unique allure of ancient celadon, on July 4. The students also witnessed the application of ceramic production technology in modern industry through local enterprise.

The students visited the Shangyu Museum, where they admired the intricately crafted and diverse artworks in the celadon gallery. The students learned about the birth and evolution of Yue Kiln celadon through the tour. Iguidi Mohamed Reda, a Moroccan student from China Jiliang University, expressed his amazement at discovering that the word "china" in English, meaning porcelain, shares the same name as the country "China", differing only in capitalization. He also expressed his intention to spread the traditional culture of porcelain to his home country, allowing people there to learn about Chinese culture.

The students visited a local water utility enterprise located in Zhangzhen town. The company has focused on technological innovation in the traditional water treatment industry, guided by new productive forces. Inspired by porcelain culture, the company successfully developed ceramic ultrafiltration membranes for water treatment through over a decade of research and development. The students witnessed ceramic membrane tubes production and were amazed by the technology. Nossova Anastassiya, a Kazakhstani student from Zhejiang University of Technology, shared her excitement, noting the contrast between the artistic and household ceramics they saw in the morning and the industrial ceramics they observed in the afternoon.

The water company plans to build a system for serving overseas talent, providing a platform for international students to innovate and start businesses in China.
