Jinhua in Zhejiang province has made a series of remarkable achievements in cultivating digital talent.

The city is currently home to 31,000 digital talents, mainly e-commerce specialists, draftsmen, stamping workers, photovoltaic module manufacturers, and information and communication network administrators.

These skilled individuals not only cater to the needs of digital economic development but also have become key to the transformation and upgrading of manufacturing enterprises, noted a local official.

This success can be attributed to a series of strategic measures implemented by authorities, reflecting collaborative efforts among the government, businesses, educational institutions, and social organizations.

For example, Hengdian Group Dongci Co has formulated a series of strategies for cultivating digital talent, including customized training, technological innovation, and practical applications.

The company collaborates closely with domestic and international universities to train professional technicians such as photovoltaic module manufacturers, stamping workers, CNC machine tool installation and maintenance workers, and digital twin application technicians. Technical schools are also aligning with the demands of the digital information industrial chain through customized training programs, work-study programs, and technician workshops.

Jinhua Technical College is actively engaging with four key industrial chains including new energy vehicles and key components, power tools, industrial machinery, and robotics. It has established nine digital professional service groups such as CNC machining and industrial robot application and maintenance to train highly-skilled digital talent and drive industrial transformation and upgrading.

The city currently hosts over 30 social training institutions providing specialized training services for digital occupations. More than 230 enterprises are conducting training sessions and performance evaluations for their workforce, while 18 evaluation agencies are actively assessing digital talent within the community.
