The Minyan Agricultural and Sideline Products Company in Songyang county, Lishui, Zhejiang province has been bustling with activity recently, as its first batch of mushrooms is waiting for export.

At the company's mushroom planting base, farmers are busy harvesting mature mushrooms. Simultaneously, workers at the acquisition center are dealing with the packaging of mushrooms which will be exported to countries such as South Korea and Japan.

"Different countries have varying packaging and quality requirements for mushrooms," explained Ye Guanfeng, head of the company. "The price of exported mushrooms is slightly higher than that in the country."

In January, with the guidance of multiple departments, the company successfully obtained certification as an export food production enterprise, making it the first in Songyang with export qualifications for agricultural and sideline products.

Previously, Songyang's mushrooms were exported through enterprises in other provinces. "But now Songyang has its own export enterprise, bringing both convenience and cost-effectiveness," said Ye.

The first batch of approximately 20 metric tons of mushrooms is set to be exported in May, which will mark a breakthrough in Songyang's self-operated export of agricultural and sideline products.
