Hangzhou is accelerating its future industry layout by focusing on three key sectors - future networks, artificial intelligence, and integrated airspace-ground development.
Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City recently announced its strategic plan, aiming to become a hub for cutting-edge industries like brain science, AI, and quantum information.
The future networks sector will concentrate on next-gen communication technology and chip development, the AI sector will target breakthroughs in core technologies and wider application deployment, while the integrated airspace-ground development aims to combine low-altitude economy with smart connected vehicles to create a comprehensive unmanned transportation network.
To support these industries, a new computing power center has been established, offering 3,000P (1P equals roughly 10 quadrillion calculations per second) of intelligent computing power.
Hangzhou Future Sci-Tech City's forward-looking approach also includes brain science and neuromorphic intelligence, with institutes like the Nanhu Brain-Machine Interfacing Research Institute fostering innovation and industrial development.
In 2023, the city's digital economy core industry added value exceeded 190 billion yuan ($26.2 billion), accounting for about one-fifth of the province's total, with companies engaged in networking, high-end software, and cloud computing leading the charge.
