With the 19th Asian Games currently underway in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, artisans in the area and further afield have been inspired to depict and capture the spirit of the event. Through carvings, porcelain art, paintings, paper cuttings and other forms of intangible cultural heritage, these creatives have immortalized elements of the event, such as the mascots Chenchen, Congcong and Lianlian, as well as scenes from the competitive sports. While expressing the hopes of the Asian Games, the traditional handicrafts will also serve as a reminder of the sports gathering for years to come.
