The 2023 China International Online Literature Week (hereinafter referred to as "The Week"), co-organized by the China Writers Association, the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, and the Hangzhou Municipal People's Government, is set to be held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, China on May 27th.


The theme of this year’s event is "A Diverse Asia for A Wonderful World," with the goal of telling Chinese stories to a global audience through the perspective of online literature and bringing China closer to readers worldwide with more engaging online literature stories.

2023 China International Online Literature Week


High-profile individuals such as famous online literature writers and representatives of big organizations like those in charge of online literature platforms, publishing houses, game companies, television and movies organizations, and cartoon and animation companies are expected to attend the opening ceremony. 


It is expected to release the Report on the Communication of China Online Literature in Asia at the opening ceremony, portraying the landscape and development of online literature with a focus on the current situation, characteristics, and ways of communication of China online literature in Asia. 


Moreover, "The Week" will honour well-known individuals and organizations whose works have gained global recognition, as determined by the “China Online Literature Influence Ranking List", which is comprised of dimensions such as creation, IP adaptations, international communication, team development, etc. "The Week" will select the winning nominees on the List based on their performance over the past three years, with the goal of setting the industry's benchmarks and sharing more high-quality Chinese online literature stories with the world. 


Exhibitions, expos, forums, roundtables, field trips, and other activities are scheduled from May 27th to 29th during the 2023 China International Online Literature Week. 


During the forum on the international communication of online literature, high-profile speakers and guests will deliver keynote speeches, sharing their opinions about the current challenges and opportunities of online literature and proposing new paths and approaches for further developing online literature worldwide. 


Regarding the industrial expos, "The Week" intends to establish a professional exchange platform to showcase high-quality online literature works from recent years, with a focus on works that have gained good global reputations and derivative works. At the expos, readers will be able to meet the writers in person and experience the games adapted from famous online literature works. Meanwhile, forums on translation and cross-cultural communication will be held, inviting talents to contribute ideas to propel the online literature industry forward. 


Field trips will be organized in Hangzhou, highlighting themes such as "Song Yun Culture" and "Common Prosperity". These trips aim to showcase the beauty and inclusiveness of Hangzhou, whilst giving a helping hand to the development of online literature in the city.
