The fourth season of the China Media Group (CMG) documentary "Aerial China" was launched in Beijing on Thursday.

Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and CMG president and editor-in-chief, attended the ceremony with many other guests.

Xue Jijun, a CMG editorial board member, said the fourth season of "Aerial China" reflects CMG's in-depth study and implementation of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to vividly showcase the Chinese spirit and culture and highlight the governance of China in the new era.

It is also another blockbuster work from the CMG to welcome the 20th National Congress of the CPC, Xue said, adding that as the final season of the documentary, the upcoming fourth season will more fully reflect the "5G+4K/8K+AI" strategic pattern of CMG and the innovative integration of "Idea+Art+Technology."

He said by using first-class aerial photography with a macro aerial perspective to focus on the micro stories of ordinary people, the documentary shows a familiar and fresh view of China's beauty, ecology and civilization.

On the occasion of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, the launch of the new season of "Aerial China" is of great significance to demonstrate the great changes in China and inspire confidence in forging ahead, said Mo Gaoyi, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee and director general of the Publicity Department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee.

In the fourth season, the program has further upgraded and innovated in terms of technical application and expression methods, reflecting CMG's unremitting pursuit of upholding the spirit of integrity and innovation and creating high-quality products, Mo said, adding that it is also another classic documentary for China in the new era and a new business card for showing the image of China.

He said he hopes CMG will continue to care about and support the work of Beijing and better demonstrate the unique charm of the capital of a major country and the "City of Double Olympics."

The fourth season will include Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions (SARs) to show the new atmosphere of Hong Kong and Macao and further inspire residents to love Hong Kong and Macao, said Zeng Jian, director of the Publicity Department and spokesperson of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council.

This will further enhance the people of the whole country's intuitive sense of the vitality and romance of the two regions, especially the rebirth of Hong Kong and its glory, and further strengthen the international community's firm confidence in the "One Country, Two Systems" principle and the future development of Hong Kong and Macao.

In cross-strait exchanges, it is of great significance to tell the story of the development of the Chinese mainland, the story of the traditional Chinese culture and the story of the development of cross-strait integration, said Zhu Fenglian, a spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council.

Through the lens of "Aerial China," people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits can deeply appreciate the beauty of the country's mountains and rivers, the beauty of humanities and the beauty of culture and guide compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Straits to jointly inherit Chinese culture, carry forward the national spirit and contribute to advancing the peaceful development of cross-strait relations and peaceful reunification of the motherland, Zhu said.

The fourth season of "Aerial China" was filmed in 11 provincial-level administrative regions in the country: Beijing, Chongqing, the provinces of Liaoning, Henan, Hubei and Qinghai, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the Tibet Autonomous Region, the Hong Kong and Macao SARs and the Taiwan region.

With the largest program volume, the largest creative scale and the most outstanding innovative features, it is the first large-scale series of documentaries covering the whole country and recording the face of China in the history of Chinese documentaries.

Also, the aerial photography perspective has been raised to space for the first time. High-resolution satellites were used for dynamic shooting, and the content shot from China's Tiangong space station will allow the viewers to experience an unprecedented visual spectacle.
