2021 National Mass Entrepreneurship Innovation Week kicks off with sub-venue in Zhejiang formally opens
2021 National Mass Entrepreneurship Innovation Week takes place from October 19 to 25. With “High-quality Innovation, High-standard Entrepreneurship” as its theme, this year’s Week will be held both online and offline. On the afternoon of October 19, the Zhejiang sub-venue launching ceremony was unveiled in Hangzhou Olympic and International Expo Center in Binjiang District, Hangzhou.
During the Week, asides from the launching ceremony, Zhejiang “Double Innovation” themed exhibition, sub-venue in Zhejiang will as well hold over 30 themed activities including but not limited to “Entrepreneurship in China”, Netease Digital Conference, and digital agriculture mini round table.
4 new asymptomatic cases are reported in Zhejiang
From 0:00 to 24:00 October 19 Beijing Time, there were 4 new asymptomatic cases in Zhejiang (including 3 cases imported from Russia and 1 case imported from China Taiwan), and all close contacts have been centrally isolated. No new confirmed cases were reported. By 24:00 on October 19, a total of 1457 confirmed cases have been reported (238 cases are imported from aboard).
Hangzhou is on the list “Amazing China: the Most Attractive Chinese Cities for Foreigners” for the 11th consecutive year
On October 18, 2021, "Amazing China: the Most Attractive Chinese Cities for Foreigners" selection results were unveiled. The results show that Hangzhou is ranked the first in a number of net talent inflow figures, ranking third on the list, and has been listed for 11 consecutive years.
The top ten cities listed are: Beijing,Shanghai, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Xi'an, Chengdu, Ningbo, Suzhou, Shenzhen, Qingdao
This themed selection activity is first held in 2010. the cities are selected based on five major criteria including 54 indicators.
The 1st World Press Briefing for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 concludes
The 1st World Press Briefing for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 successfully concluded on Oct 19. More than 400 representatives from 110 media organizations participated.
A press conference was held after the press briefing. Media officers of OCA attended the press conference online.
According to the press conference, the media construction of the Hangzhou Asian Games is under preparation.
The main media center is located in Hangzhou International Expo Center, which was the main venue of the 2016 G20 Hangzhou Summit. Each of the 55 venues has a media center. News information services will also be Olympic standards.
It is reported that media registration for Hangzhou Asian Games will start in November this year.
Foreign trade totals $468b in the first three quarters
The import and export values of East China's Zhejiang province expanded 22.8 percent in the first three quarters of this year to 3 trillion yuan ($467.87 billion), statistics from Hangzhou Customs showed.
The export value amounted to 2.16 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.5 percent while the import value reached 833.01 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 31.9 percent.
Zhejiang's foreign trade in the second and third quarters were both record highs, coming in at 1.06 trillion yuan and 1.07 trillion yuan respectively.
The European Union and the United States are still the province's two largest trading partners with respective trading values of 485.77 billion yuan and 445.99 billion yuan, year-on-year increases of 18.7 percent and 21.4 percent.
Zhejiang's trade with the countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative jumped 23.4 percent year-on-year to 1.02 trillion yuan while its trade with Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership members increased 19.7 percent year-on-year to 762.22 billion yuan.
Exports of mechanical and electrical products, as well as high-tech products, surged 23.3 percent and 34.4 percent with a combined export value of 1.04 trillion yuan, accounting for 44.8 percent of Zhejiang's total export value.
The import and export values of private companies in Zhejiang totaled 2.26 trillion yuan, accounting for 75.3 percent of the province's total, while that of foreign-invested companies reached 486.11 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23.4 percent.
